Splayed rib cage

-Imagine the ribs knitting together

-think of the belly button connecting to the spine

-your rib cage is like a bird’s wings at rest coming in and down softly and disappearing into the rest of its body/Or sails of a ship, relaxed and down

-relax the tailbone down

-pretend you have a weight on the bottom of your tailbone

Pronating knees-

-think of the muscles of your hips spiraling all the way down the leg,

-ask students to take their hands and spiral them down your legs-this is is the direction that your muscles work when everything is aligned

Collapsing the arches

- Imagine a thick juicy orange wedge underneath the arches of your feet that you don’t want to squish.

Closed off/ hunched shoulders

- imagine you are carrying two bowls on your shoulders and you cant let them spill

- you have arrows coming out of your collar bone, you want them to point to the sides of the room, not the front

legs coming out of line                     -

your hip is like a bold and your leg is the wrench

of the hips
